Watch The Pattern Repeat

Where today are the Pequot? Where are the Narragansett, the Mohican, the Pokanoket, and other powerful tribes of our people? They have vanished before the avarice and oppression of the White Man, as snow before a summer sun.

Tecumseh spoke these words in 1811 while traveling among the Osage and other tribes, trying to build a confederacy strong enough to resist American expansion into Native lands. He pointed to the fate of the Pequot, Narragansett, and other nations as proof of a pattern already visible to anyone willing to look. His gift was not prophecy but discernment: he read the same story unfolding again and again and refused to pretend it might end differently without action. That kind of clear-eyed pattern recognition is still the difference between being caught off guard and being prepared.
