Example is not the main thing in influencing others. It is the only thing.

Schweitzer wrote this in his autobiography, reflecting on his father, a modest village pastor whose quiet integrity shaped him more than any sermon ever could. By the time he set these words down, Schweitzer had already left behind a celebrated career in music and theology to build a hospital in Lambaréné, convinced that a life is judged by what it does rather than what it says. He was keenly aware that his own years were limited and that whatever mattered in him would have to live on through the people he touched, not through his name.
