Morning Meditation

June 19, 2026

We are all in this together, and there is no way out of that." — Irvin Yalom, Staring at the Sun

Yalom wrote this while working with patients confronting terminal illness, people sitting across from him who felt utterly alone in their fear of death. What he kept finding, case after case, was that naming that fear out loud — to another person — consistently reduced it. The isolation was not a fact of the situation; it was a story people were telling themselves. That gap between the story and the reality is exactly where interconnectedness lives, and it is just as easy to forget today as it was in Yalom's consulting room.

Reflection

Think about a fear or worry you have kept entirely to yourself. Who is one specific person you could tell it to this week?
