Morning Meditation

April 07, 2026

Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.

— Buddha

Though Buddha taught this 2,500 years ago, his wisdom speaks directly to our distracted age. He recognized that suffering often stems from regret about yesterday or anxiety about tomorrow—mental states beyond our control. The Stoics embraced this same principle: focus energy only on what lies within your power right now. In our hyperconnected world of endless notifications and worries, this teaching remains profoundly radical.

Reflection

What one thing can you master right now, in this very hour? Not next week or next year—today. Identify a single task, conversation, or habit that deserves your full attention. How might your day transform if you gave it everything you have, without reservation or distraction?
